They say it “takes a village” to raise a child, but we don’t live in villages anymore and most new parents are not receiving the kind of support they need to really thrive during their postpartum experience. Babies are blessings, but they are also a lot of work and with postpartum hormones, sleep deprivation, and physical ailments resulting from pregnancy and childbirth, it can be hard for mom to feel terribly blessed. My goal as a postpartum doula is to help you find relief from some of the stresses of postpartum so that you can more easily feel the joy of having a new baby in your home. There is an endless list of how I can support new parents postpartum from helping get some much needed sleep, cleaning up the house, preparing nourishing food, teaching newborn care, shoulder rubs for mom, and so much more. I can support you in the unique ways that you need. As new parents, you should not be left alone to figure things out and even if you do have people around to give you advice, it may not always be welcome advice.
